Lambeth has no bonfire night display in 2026. The nearest are Herne Hill Velodrome on Saturday 31 October and Dulwich Sports Club on Saturday 7 November.

Bonfire night 2026 falls on Thursday 5 November, and Lambeth council is not putting on a display. It has not run one for years. What the borough has instead is two ticketed displays a short walk apart in SE24, one of them already fully priced and timed, and one very large event over the river that has taken your money before it has told you which nights it is on.

Every fact below was checked against the organiser’s own published material on 5 September 2026.

Herne Hill Velodrome, Saturday 31 October, and it is the one with real detail

The Friends of Herne Hill Velodrome are running their Halloween Fireworks on Saturday 31 October 2026, and their event page publishes the whole running order:

Tickets are £13.00 for adults plus a £1 booking fee, £8 for 12 to 16 year olds plus 75p, and £1 for under 12s plus 50p, with the booking fee charged on every ticket. Under 12s must be with an adult. The Friends are explicit that tickets are only available in advance, and that refunds happen only if the event is cancelled. Food and drink stalls are on site, and you cannot bring your own alcohol, glass or food in.

The venue is the last surviving facility from the 1948 Olympics, and the organisers make the practical case for it plainly: the banking of the track gives tiered vantage points, so a crowd can actually see. The lost child point is the ambulance, on your right as you come in. The site is wheelchair accessible but the Friends ask you to contact them first, on friends@hhvt.org.

The Friends are part of the Herne Hill Velodrome Trust, a registered charity, and say the money funds track sessions and mountain bike trails for local young people.

Dulwich Sports Club, Saturday 7 November, kids for a quid

The second display is a ten-minute walk away. Irvin Leisure runs Dulwich Fireworks at Dulwich Sports Club, Giant Arches Road, SE24 9HP, on Saturday 7 November 2026. Gates open at 5pm, live music starts at 5.30pm, and the fireworks go up around 7pm.

The draw is the “kid for a quid” price for under 12s, which is why it fills with local families. Irvin Leisure does not publish an adult price on the event page, only a booking link, so we are not quoting a figure. It does say clearly that there will be no tickets available on the night.

Both SE24 venues sit just over the boundary in Southwark, in Dulwich Village ward, despite the Herne Hill postcode. For anyone walking up from Herne Hill, Tulse Hill or West Norwood that distinction does not matter, but it is why neither appears on anything Lambeth publishes.

Battersea Park has taken the on-sale date public without the dates

Battersea Park Fireworks is the big one, run by the not for profit Enable with Wandsworth Council, and it is the display most of Clapham and Stockwell actually goes to. Enable has confirmed on its sign-up page that 2026 tickets go on sale on Tuesday 8 September, with presale access from 9am and general sale at midday the same day.

It has not published the 2026 dates. We read the homepage, the sign-up page and the access page on 5 September and none of them carries a date; the homepage says only “LONDON’S BIGGEST AND BRIGHTEST FIREWORKS DISPLAY IS BACK” and “TICKETS ON SALE TUESDAY 8TH SEPTEMBER”. Wandsworth Council’s news feed has nothing on it either. Listings sites are quoting 7 and 8 November. We cannot confirm that from Enable, so do not book travel or a babysitter on it.

Worse, the event’s own information page is still last year’s. It says “TICKETS ARE NOW SOLD OUT”, and the timings on it are the 2025 ones: Saturday 1 November gates at 6pm, closing at 8pm, fireworks about 8.30pm; Sunday 2 November gates at 4.30pm, closing at 6.30pm, fireworks about 7pm. The prices shown, £14.20 to £15 plus booking fee for adults, £9.50 for 5 to 15 year olds and free for under 5s, are last year’s too. The access page similarly still reads “Access for All tickets are now SOLD OUT” about the 5,000 discounted tickets for eligible residents on means tested benefits.

Treat the whole site as stale until 8 September, then read it again.

Why Lambeth has nothing of its own

This is the question people actually type, so here is the answer with dates on it. Lambeth’s free Brockwell Park display was scrapped years ago. A commercial operator, Lambeth Fireworks, then ran a paid event in the park, and Brixton Buzz covered the last one on Saturday 3 November 2018. There was no display in Brockwell Park in 2019, and the gap was filled that year by the Brixton Soup Kitchen putting on a free community display on 5 November. In December 2020 the council was advertising for a commercial partner to run fifty event days a year in Brockwell Park, a November fireworks display for 40,000 paying customers among them. That did not produce one.

Nothing has changed for 2026. Lambeth’s own events calendar at event.lambeth.gov.uk, checked on 5 September, lists no park event after Oktoberfest on the Common on 9 October. Nothing in November, nothing in December. Londonist’s London-wide 2026 round-up, last updated 4 September, names no Lambeth display either.

Parking, and getting there

Neither SE24 organiser offers parking, and both say so.

  • Herne Hill Velodrome: “There will be no parking at the Velodrome and parking in the local area is limited.” Walk, cycle or take the train. It is a short walk from Herne Hill, North Dulwich and West Dulwich stations, and buses 3 and 201 stop at Croxted Road / Turney Road, the 37 at Half Moon Lane / Burbage Road.
  • Dulwich Sports Club: no parking on site, same walk-up from Herne Hill.
  • Battersea Park: Enable’s page says there is no parking in the park apart from very limited disabled bays, and points people at Battersea Park, Queenstown Road, Clapham Junction and Victoria stations.

Assume the residential streets around all three will be full and stewarded. Neither Lambeth nor Southwark has published a road closure order for either SE24 display, and none was in force for them last year.
