Irvin's winter funfair is back on Clapham Common from 27 December 2026 to 3 January, noon to 9pm daily. Rides are £2 each; the entrance is on The Avenue.
The Clapham Common Winter Funfair runs from Sunday 27 December 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027, from 12 noon to 9pm every day. It is the one big thing on the common between Christmas and New Year, and it is run by Irvin Leisure, the travelling fair company that has brought it back each winter. Every ride costs £2, and the entrance is on the corner of Windmill Drive and The Avenue, the A205 South Circular.

The online deal works out at 80p a token, so a ride costs £1.60 rather than £2. The maths only helps if you will use most of the 50: a family doing ten or twelve rides is better off paying at the fair.
The 2026 page does not state the entry price. For the 2025 fair, Irvin advertised “FREE ENTRY”, and nothing on the 2026 page suggests a change.
What rides there are
Irvin lists the same line-up for 2026 as it did for 2025: dodgems, a waltzer, the Twister and the Tornado, an Astro Slide, bungee trampolines, a ghost train, a train ride, monster trucks, simulators and games stalls, with children’s helicopters, jet planes and chair-o-planes for the youngest.
It is shorter than it used to be
The fair has been getting shorter. Irvin’s listings show:

The 2024/25 run is from Irvin’s ticket listing for that year. Since 2025 the fair has opened after Christmas rather than before it, so there is no fair on the common on Christmas Eve this year.
Getting there
The entrance on The Avenue is at the Clapham South end of the common, and Irvin names Clapham South on the Northern line as the nearest station, with buses 35, 37, 50, 88, 137, 155, 249, 322 and 345 nearby. Check the Tube before you go: nothing runs on Christmas Day and the service between Christmas and New Year may be reduced. Our Christmas travel page has what is confirmed so far.
Parking is harder. The Avenue is part of the South Circular and there is no car park at the fair. Our parking in Clapham page sets out which bays are free on the bank holiday, which this year is Monday 28 December.
